Well we meant to do this post a while back, but we apparently never got around to it, so I guess now's as good a time as any to post our goals for 2010. So here they are:
Ryan:
1.) Work on my Core: I have a really bad back, probably due to four years of crashing into people on the rugby pitch, and it's only gotten worse now that I have a desk job and sit down for 9.5+ hours a day. I know I always feel better after a little session of core and some yoga, but somehow I never seem to find the time to work it in. This MUST change in 2010.
2.) Run at least 4 Marathons: I have definitely caught the running bug from Miss Bethany. As you all know, we first started dating, I had NO desire to EVER run. No she's got me hooked, and yes, the marathon is now my favorite distance. I'm already 1/4th of the way to this goal, after finishing the Disney Marathon with a nice PR. Next up is Boston Marathon in April, Alaska Mayor's Marathon in June, and Stone Cat Trail Marathon in November. Contemplating Bay State Marathon in October, but we will see.
3.) Start my Master's Degree: I'm already on my way to this one. I started taking night classes at Northeastern University, working on my Master's degree in Structural Engineering. It gets a little stressful at times, trying to balance working full-time, class, and running, but it'll work out.
4.) Eat more Fruits and Veggies: Luckily I have Miss Bethany to help me with this.
5.) Set new PRs in the 5k, 10k, and Half-Marathon Distances
Bethany:
1.) Run the StoneCat 50 Mile Trail Race in November
2.) Have a new marathon PR (3:25?)
3.) Break 5:20 in a Half-Ironman
4.) Floss More (not going so well)
5.) Read at least one book per month (so far on book #3)
6.) Maybe lose a couple pounds this summer
Well that's about it for now. Hope everyone's having a good week!

Good luck on the goals... esp the breaking 5:20 on your Half Iron! Which one will the new PR be at?
You could look for a yoga for athletes or power yoga class...they're great for runners and cyclists...lots of hip and hamstring stretching and usually incorporate core work.
Nice looking goals! This reminds me, I don't think I ever officially posted mine for the year! Yikes!
Great goals! I'm not sure if you saw my email about the questions from your guest post...don't know if you want to answer them here maybe and I'll just put up a link? People definitely want to know more about clean eating
congrats on the goals and still finding the resolve to do them at the end of Feb., when most people have given up already. lol
My favorite distance is the marathon too.
The year I turned 40, it was my goal to pr in all of the race distances 2 miles, 5k, 10k, 12k, half marathon and full marathon. I did it and it was a great year. Since then I have even managed a few more. Good Luck!
Great goals! I'm dying to run a 50 miler someday. Glad you found me!
A 50 miler! Wow! I don't swim or bike much so half ironman would be out for me too! You certainly don't look like you need to lose a couple of pounds! And in response to your comment on my blog-I will be nowhere near 3 hrs. in Boston..lol!!
