A Snow Day for Johann

Here is what Boston has looked like for the last couple of weeks. I had 4 snow days in January! I took these pictures on Thursday, 1/27/11, wanted to share them with all of you but especially Johann. Today Ryan and I got his Explorer stuck in my parents' driveway, took about 45 minutes to get it out. 5 people (including my South-African brother-in-law who got a mouthful of snow from the back tire, oops, sorry Peter), 4 shovels and salt and sand and we finally got it out of the driveway, BUT we missed our morning run with friends :-(

Our Street, luckily, the management company does a good job clearing the sidewalks.

This car isn't going anywhere for awhile...

 Snow covered cars.

Street still hasn't been plowed. Don't think one could fit down, too much snow already built up on side of road. It's a one way street.

Snow mounds are up to my shoulders (and much higher in places like parking lots)

I cannot wait to see GREEN!!! That is what I most look forward to, seeing green grass and green leaves!

Green is great. But then again I have to feel that way we have it almost all year long...

Meg said...

I can't believe you can't use your cars, that is just wild! I hope you see green very, very soon(and stay warm!).

Jenn said...

Green Grass, green leaves. I'm desperate!!! Wow, you guys really are getting a lot of snow!

Jess @ Blonde Ponytail said...

Wow! You guys are getting hit so hard in the northeast! I hope it lets up soon!

Thanks for sharing your snowy pics!

Johann said...

Thanks for the snow photos! Wow, this is just crazy. I can understand why you are looking forward to seeing green. Can't believe all the snow on those cars!

Love the pics! Yeah we are getting hit hard....and 20 more inches this week! I saw footage of Fenway the other day on the news....will it ever be green?

Carly said...

It's the same story up here in Maine. And it's like they're ignoring it now because they don't want to deal with it anymore. Ugh! Looking forward to green with you!

Marlene said...

That's a ton of snow, and it looks like it's coming our way in the next day or two. Yikes!!! Be safe!

Emily said...

I'm SO over winter! You had better get those streets clear and sunny by April 18th!

Denise said...

that's what we look like here...and now more snow and ice to come over the next 2 days! i don't mind the work from home days, but it's killing my long runs on saturday!

Jen said...

WOW! That is a lot of snow! I'm looking forward to green stuff too!

Amanda said...

I sure how the deep freeze ends soon and that you get your green soon.

That was funny, tasted like dry popsicle! Think I got some up my nose too... Anything for you guys except next time I drive :-)

Richelle said...

My brother lives in Boston, so I've been hearing about how much snow you've gotten. Spring can't come soon enough!

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing months of
hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?

I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you
do not mind. Could it be just me or does it look like
some of these comments come across like they are coming from brain dead visitors?
:-P And, if you are posting at additional online sites, I would like to follow anything new
you have to post. Would you make a list of all of your social sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

First of all I want to say superb blog! I had a quick question which I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.

I've had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thank you!

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your website?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2
pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
